Brands giving back during the Covid 19 Pandemic

How are Beauty Brands supporting the Covid 19 Relief Effort?

If you are in need of a beauty restock and are looking for advice on which brands to purchase from, I highly recommend you consider supporting the companies that have continued to give back throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic. It's great to see company's continuing to stand up and help those who need it most during this challenging time.

Spotlight Oral Care are an Irish Company founded by Irish Dentists and sisters Dr Lisa and Vanessa Creavan. During the Pandemic Spotlight sent care packages, made up with their Total Care Toothpaste and Bamboo Toothbrushes, to staff members in various hospitals across Ireland. They also donated products as part of the #PrescribeKindness Campaign with Boots Ireland for the HSE Self-Isolation Centre in Citywest.

The L'Oreal Group, one of the largest Beauty Producers in the world, started using its facilities to make hand sanitisers for Medical Workers in need. Vismay Sharma, L'Oreal's UK and Ireland Country Managing Director said that the L'Oreal group would donate 50,000 hygeine products and hand sanatisers to Healthcare Workers in Ireland as well as donating 27,000 hand sanatisers to Pharmacy and Grocery Staff. 

L'Oreal has also promised to donate $720,000 to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation. The funds will go towards providing medical supplies

Clarins distributed 300 pamper packs to Frontline Medical Workers in Ireland as well as converting their production line in France to manufacture alcohol-based hand sanitiser as well as hand lotions.

Boots was a corporate sponsor for Daffodil Day after it was cancelled as a result of the Pandemic. They also donated products along with Spotlight Oral Care as part of the #PrescribeKindness Campaign and sent them to the HSE Self-Isolation Centre in Citywest. They also worked closely with the FAI and Local Authorities to help vulnerable people get access to their prescriptions on time.

Brown Thomas and Arnotts continued to support the children and families in CMRF Crumlin throughout the Pandemic. CMRF Crumlin uploaded an Instagram post thanking them both and included a picture of toiletry bags as well as travel-sized luxury beauty products. Brown Thomas has since confirmed to RTE that they donated over 800 beauty products.

Ella & Jo is another Irish Company that gave back during the Pandemic. They have donated €3,000 worth of their antibacterial squeaky clean brush cleanser, which can be used to sanitise your hands as well as their 3 in 1 Hyaluronic Skin Mist to their local Hospitals in Ireland.

Garnier donated bottles of their new hand sanitisers to Boots Colleagues and Retail staff working on the front line.

Dermalogica provided over 300 smoothing skin kits to hospitals across Ireland, including the Mercy Hospital in Cork.

L'occitane reassigned its facilities to manufacture over 70,000 litres of hand sanitiser which were donated to healthcare workers. In the Uk and Ireland L'occitane donated over 10,000 hand creams to both the HSE and the NHS.

Codex Beauty sent free cases of their travel-sized Skin Superfood product to any Hospital that requested them via their Instagram.



Outside of Ireland

La Roche-Posay owned by L'Oreal donated nearly 1 million hand sanitisers to hospitals and clinics across the US, as well as 5 million to pharmacies last April to help with worldwide shortages. ​

Murad donated 15% of all their sales during March 31st to April 6th to No Kid Hungry, helping children affected by school closures.

Mac Viva Glam Gaga Fund donated $10,000,000 to over 250 Local Organisations around the world to support vulnerable communities affected by Covid 19.

Nivea made by Beiersdorf donated 200,000 Eucerin, Nivea and Aquaphor skincare products across the US as well as 500,000 medical grade sanitisers to Hospital Workers.

Deciem, in Canada, started producing The Ordinary Hand Sanitiser and donated them to some Frontline Workers across the Country.

Milk Makeup donated 100% of its proceeds over the course of a day to First Responders in New York City.

Marc Jacobs donated 2,000 moisturisers to Healthcare Workers across the US in partnership with Donate Beauty

Soap and Glory donated over 10,000 bottles of Clean on Me to the hygiene bank, helping vulnerable people all across the UK.
