Have you ever seen a tubing mascara and been intrigued to give it a try?  Here's a brief rundown of the advantages of using tubing mascara's and an overview of the most popular ones on the market!

What is the main difference between using a "Tubing Mascara" and a "Traditional Mascara"?

The main difference between tubing mascaras and traditional mascaras is that a traditional mascara will add layers of pigment to your lashes through the use of oils or waxes. A tubing mascara, on the other hand, is made of polymers that wrap around each individual lash to improve and lengthen the appearance of the lashes.

Although they're still a relatively new concept here, Japan has been selling them for a very long time. Even though they are becoming more well-known, a sizeable portion of consumers are still unaware that such a mascara even exists.
Who would Benefit from using a Tubing Mascara?

A tubing mascara can be a great alternative for you if you find that your mascara smudges, flakes, and doesn't stay on your lashes for very long. For those who wear contacts or have sensitive eyes that are easily irritated by eye makeup and its removal process, it's an excellent choice. The same goes for people who have oily lids that may find their mascara breaks down too easily.

What are the Advantages of using a Tubing Mascara?

Tubing formulas can lessen the chance of tugging at your natural lashes. The very easy removal process is a lot less abrasive than that of a traditional mascara. It also has a smudge proof formula and offers additional length and volume. As I mentioned, a tubing mascara is revolutionary for people whose mascara smudges easily.
What are the Disadvantages of using a Tubing Mascara?

Personally, I don't think this will be the greatest choice for you if you prefer to apply several coats of mascara. I find that you can no longer build volume or layer coatings after the formula has dried. Additionally, the formula may weigh down lashes that are extremely stick straight, making them less effective at holding a curl.
How to Apply a Tubing Mascara?

Generally speaking, when using a tubing mascara, one coat is advised. After it dries down, the formula typically does not allow the addition of more layers. Try to get the brush as close to the lash root as you can, then wiggle the wand from left to right and brush outwards.
How to Remove a Tubing Mascara?

Honestly, one of my favourite advantages of using a tubing mascara is how simple it is to remove. You can remove tubing mascaras without the need for makeup remover; just wet a cotton pad, press it against your lashes for 30 seconds, and then gently wipe the mascara off. It really is that easy. The first time you remove the mascara, it can be a little unnerving because the polymers are soluble in water and practically resemble your natural lashes. This is totally normal as soaking the lashes gently releases the adhesion.
If it removes easily with water, how well will it hold against tears, swimming, rain etc?

Water-resistant tubing mascara will stay in place when wet as long as no pressure is applied. It is not technically "waterproof," as it needs water to be removed. If your lashes get wet, avoid rubbing or touching them, instead, allow them to dry, and they will set back into place.

Hi Emma, what mascara do you use and I'd be able to help? Alternatively, you could check the ingredient list to see if it has polymers listed. Lastly you could be able to tell from the removal process, whether it dissolves in water or needs an eye makeup remover. Hope this helps! x

Some will indicate that it's a tubing mascara on the packaging or in the name but others don't. The best thing to do is check if the ingredients mentions polymers or "polyvinylpyrrolidone". If it does then it's definitely a tubing mascara! x

Can you leave this on for a few days like false lash extensions

Hi Amy, I wouldn't recommend sleeping in any mascara, it's always best to remove it before bed. Leaving it on could really irritate your eyes and damage your natural lashes as you sleep. Hope this helps! x

Would u use it to layer with false lashes like to blend the natural lash to the false one

Hi Rachel, I wouldn't personally. I think if you're using a false lash then you don't need something like a tubing mascara to fill it out even more. Just a very light layer of normal mascara to blend your natural lash into your strip lashes is enough. You should be able to achieve your desired look, be it volume or length, through the strip lash itself. Not the mascara. Hope that helps! x
