My Review:

Having loved Charlotte's Magic Cream for years, I was very excited to get the chance to try her Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and it has definitely lived up to my expectations.

I have dry skin and have always used an illuminator or highlighter to fake a glow, this serum has eradicated the   need for that. It leaves my skin visibly glowing, plump and has taken away the dull almost dehydrated look that I used to have. As I mentioned, I would always reach for some type of an illuminator or an illuminating primer to fake that glowing skin look, but using this serum has given me that glowing skin look, even without makeup. 

​If you've been following me for a while, then you'll know I speak about Hyaluronic Acid regularly and gravitate towards any skincare product marketing it as an ingreident. With this in mind, one of my main attractions to this serum was hearing about an ingredient included in the formulation called "Polyglumatic Acid". On the Youtube Launch for this Serum, "Polyglumatic Acid" was constantly praised and one of the Scientists spoke about it in a little more depth, which really drew my intention in. It is four times more Hydrating than Hyaluronic Acid, with large molecules that allow it to form a thin, moisture-loss preventing film on the skin's surface. It helps increase your skin's hydration levels by up to 172% in just one hour. I think this is going to be hugely benefical to anyone who suffers with dry or dehydrated skin. On the days I use this serum, I believe the change is definitely visible. It eradicates any dry patches or cracked skin and leaves the most beautiful, healthy looking glow!

Prior to applying my makeup, I tried the combination of using the Magic Cream Moisturiser and the Crystal Elixir Serum first. The results are noticeable on bare skin alone but when you begin to Layer Foundation on top, the difference becomes even more recognisable. Thanks to the Golden Vitamin C, my complexion appears instantly brighter on application. My foundation glided on much smoother and on areas where I would usually notice some gathering such as around my nose, I noticed the biggest difference. It was almost as if this Skincare combination gave an invisable film over my skin, allowing the makeup to glide overtop effortlessly and seamlessly. It also helped to minimise the appearance of large pores, another problem I would usually reach for an additional primer to conceal. My foundation didn't start clinging to areas where it normally would, as I said usually around my nose or near my hairline. I love the glow it gave and found myself using far less highlight and illuminated products than I normally would. All I did was use a small bit of the Hollywood Flawless Fliter on the high points of my face and I was good to go. I think for anyone who only likes a very light makeup look, this serum would work great in conjunction with a small bit of Magic Away Concealer, some Hollywood Filter and you would be good to go! 

It dries down quickly, absorbs well and doesn't leave a greasy film on the skin. It has a very light, rose scent that has yet to irritate or be a problem for my sensitive skin. I think this is because, although scented, it only contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. A little goes a long way so a full size bottle should easily last you a good while. I also think this Serum will condense the number of products you need in your everyday skincare routine. I usually layer a number of skincare products in oreder to achieve my desired results but I didn't find the need to whilst using this serum. The packaging is beautiful and in true Charlotte style, very luxurious. You definitely don't need to be using this serum for weeks on end before you notice a difference, the results are almost instant and you will start reeping in it's benefits very quickly which is a nice plus.
